Muriel’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies

My college roommate & dear friend LoBo was in nursing school and one of her professors bestowed upon her students the following recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Follow exactly as written. Do not over-bake. You’re welcome!

1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter (a must!)
1 cup white Crisco (a must!)
4 1/2 cups white flour
chocolate chips to taste (one 12 oz bag)

Mix the above ingredients (excluding the flour & chocolate chips) together very thoroughly; then slowly add in the flour, then finally the chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit on sheet a minute or less (unless they appear too brown when you take them out of the oven). Place on rack to cool, or eat immediately with cold milk!
